This object qualifies for free USA shipping and a flat rate fee of $60 if shipping internationally.
The fantastic condition and detailed discus make this thin-walled oil lamp truly stand out. Mold-made, with a small, deep body, the shallow discus is decorated with a beautifully detailed petaled flower element, while the central filling hole suggests the stigma. There are concentric grooves around the edge of the discus, the horizontal shoulder is narrow and there is a raised heart-shaped nozzle. The upper portion of the lamp is covered in a light red-brown slip glaze. The concave base and fine, incised base ring complete this lovely example.
Condition: The lamp is intact and in excellent condition overall.
Dimensions: Length: 3 3/8 inches (8.6 cm)
Provenance: Hilda Tijou, California private collection, acquired in the 1960s or earlier and then by descent to her granddaughter.
