Die charakteristischsten Fliegenamulette sind die aus Gold während des Neuen Reiches gefertigten Amulette, die Teil einer Ehrenauszeichnung waren, die ursprünglich militärische Tapferkeit belohnte. Die frühesten Exemplare, die normalerweise aus Serpentin gefertigt sind, stammen jedoch aus vordynastischer Zeit. Die Symbolik der Fliege als Amulett und nicht als Auszeichnung ist unklar; vielleicht hoffte der Träger, seiner berühmten Fruchtbarkeit nachzueifern; Vielleicht war es rein apotropäischer Natur, um dieses hartnäckigste und am weitesten verbreitete ägyptische Insekt in Schach zu halten. Dieses aus blau glasiertem Speckstein gefertigte Exemplar weist fein eingeschnittene Details am Kopf und an den Flügeln auf und war aufgrund seiner geringen Größe wahrscheinlich Teil einer Talismankette.

Overseas shipments are sent using either USPS Priority Mail or FedEx but contact us if you have a shipping preference. International customers are responsible for all duties and taxes.
