This majestic depiction of a mountain goat indeed captures the animal's balance, strength, and fearless nature. A true monarch of the high grounds, the animal is solid cast in bronze using the lost wax method and is portrayed in an alert stance, the head with a spade-shaped beard, pointed perked ears, round eyes, and a grooved mouth. Incised details enhance his long, powerfully curved horns, the short tail is raised and alert, while the four legs integrate with a rectangular slab base.

Exhibited: Los Angeles County Museum, 1977

Condition: Aside from the raised break to the base, the goat is intact and in excellent condition overall and presented on a custom mount A rare and beautiful example.
