The obverse depicts the laureate bust of Emperor Septimius Severus (r. 193 - 211 CE) facing right. The reverse has the goddess Fortuna holding a rudder and a cornucopia. The coin is recently set as a 95% silver pendant and strung on a braided silver chain.

Septimius Severus, the first Roman emperor of North African origin, left a lasting impact on the Roman Empire through significant military and administrative reforms. His reign saw the replenishment of the imperial treasury, border expansions in Africa and the Near East, and the fortification of Hadrian’s Wall in Britain. Severus was a shrewd military leader, using his army's loyalty to consolidate power during a time of political instability. His rule foreshadowed the internal strife that would later define the dynasty’s decline. He also founded the Severan Dynasty (193 - 235) by fathering future emperors Caracalla and Geta with his second wife, Julia Domna.
