A set of four bronze hobnails, each cast in the form of a stylized rosette or flower with six radiating petals. These decorative nail-head fittings feature pointed shafts designed to be driven into thick leather soles. The hobnails served both practical and decorative purposes, providing traction, durability, and possibly identifying rank or unit through shoe design.
Such hobnails were most commonly used in Roman caligae (military sandals) or boots. Rosette designs were typical of 1st to 3rd century CE military footwear and may have also been used in ceremonial or parade contexts. The elaborate floral motif distinguishes them from purely utilitarian types, and similar forms have been recovered from military sites across the Roman Empire.

Overseas shipments are sent using FedEx or DHL but contact us if you have a shipping preference. International customers are responsible for all duties and taxes.
