This object qualifies for free USA shipping and a flat rate fee of $60 if shipping internationally.
Diorite is the hardest material sculpted by the ancient Egyptians and was highly prized. Seemlessly blending ancient with modern, these superb diorite wedjat eye amulets have been set into 14-karat yellow gold hoop earring with 32 round .0075-ct. white diamonds (I1 clarity/G, H color; .24CTW/pair). The earrings are designed so the hoops can be worn without the amulets, effectively providing two different pairs of earrings!
The wedjet-eye was supposedly the eye that Seth tore from Horus during a battle over who would lead the gods. Thoth healed the injured eye, returning it to Horus as the "sound one." Wedjet-eye amulets were used from the Old Kingdom through the Roman Period and whether worn as a bracelet for everyday wear or tucked among mummy wrappings, this amulet was an effective source of protection, strength, and perfection.
