The ladies are separated by two large palmette leaves, a wave pattern decorates the rim of the lid, and the top of the handle is adorned with radiating lines. The base comprises a black-glazed dish with twin handles, flanged below the rim to accommodate the lid, and is set on a high hollow foot.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTwo-part dishes of this type were often presented as wedding gifts, and the scenes on them tend to show women dressed in their finery.
