Seals were frequently deposited as offerings in temples, which were also centers of economic activity. This example, carved from black serpentine, portrays a kneeling horned ibex, head turned back to face a kneeling figure in short kilt, preceded by a standing figure facing a snake.

Condition: Intact and in very good condition overall.

Provenance: Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Feuer, NY., acquired 1970s - 1980s, thereafter private Virginia collection.
