One of the most celebrated goddesses in Egyptian mythology, this blue glass amulet depicts the goddess Isis, the wife and sister of Osiris, and daughter of Seb, the earth god, and Nut, the goddess of the heavens. Here, the mold made blue glass amulet of the goddess is shown standing, her left foot striding forward wearing a long close-fitting sheath dress, broad beaded collar, and tripartite wig surmounted by a crown in the form of her hieroglyphic name-sign, the "throne." 

Condition:  Loss to top of headdress otherwise intact and in good condition overall.

Dimensions: Height: 1 1/8 inches (2.7 cm)

Provenance: Private Maryland collection of a diplomat, acquired while serving in Egypt between 1949 and 1956, and then by descent.
