of green glazed faience with details highlighted in black, shown mummiform, wearing a short bag wig with seshed headband tied at the back, a triangular section hanging pendant at the back of the wig, the hands held to the chest holding a hoe and shoulder strap for a basked that is painted behind the left shoulder, and has a vertical column with an inscription at the legs.

Condition: Very minor surface losses and loss to the base but overall intact.

Provenance: Property from the George R. Francoeur Trust, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, sold to benefit the George R. Francoeur Scholarship Fund at Cranbrook Academy of Art. George R. Francoeur (1934 - 2019) was born and raised in Michigan and was a dedicated arts teacher at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills as well as an avid traveler and art collector. Thereafter in a private Virginia collection, acquired in 2020 at the above sale.
