Judging by the ancient repairs done to preserve this stunning brooch of high karat gold, this item was highly prized. Many examples of the style can be found in bronze comprising four interlocking spirals, with a knob at the center of each spiral, and joined by an attachment plate to the back.
Condition: Incomplete with loss of original pin, one central gold knob missing.
