The stone intaglio of fiery carnelian was perhaps used as a seal.  It is delicately carved with a chubby, winged Eros playing a gracefully rendered lyre. With his feet standing on a ground line, the incised wings of Eros are extended from his back, his head is turned in profile and he reaches across his body with his right arm to strum the large lyre held in his left arm.

Dimensions: US ring size 8 1/2 (UK=Q 3/4, DE=18 1/2, JP=17)

Condition: Minimal wear around the edges of the stone, otherwise intact and in good condition, mounted on modern 18K gold ring setting.

Provenance: Private California collection
