A very striking pair of 14K white gold drop earrings, set with eleven 1-pt. diamonds (SI3-I1 clarity/G, H color; 22 pts that surmount two openwork wedjat eyes of bright blue faience.

The wedjat-eye was supposedly the eye that Seth tore from Horus during a battle over who would lead the gods. Thoth healed the injured eye, returning it to Horus as the "sound one." An effective source of protection, strength, and perfection, wedjat-eye amulets were used from the Old Kingdom through to Roman times and were worn in everyday wear as well as tucked among mummy wrappings.

Condition: Part of our new jewelry collection, the mounts are new and unworn, the amulets are intact and in excellent condition overall.
