A small, solid-cast bronze amulet of a dog curled in a recumbent pose with a suspension hole in the inner curve of its body. He is naturalistically rendered, with curled tail, pointed ears, and snout resting on the ground near his front paws. A charming example that shows the nature of dogs hasn't changed in 2,000 years! 

Medium: Bronze

Dimensions: Length: 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm)

Condition: The dog is intact and in excellent condition, with a lovely patina.

Provenance: Property of a Memphis physician. Ex. private NYC collection, acquired from Royal Athena Galleries, New York, item #SLZ24.
