Diese Vintage-Charms, vergoldet und bestehend aus einer Eule, zwei Ma'at-Federn und zwei gefalteten Stoffsymbolen, waren Teil der Ausstellung „Treasures of Tutankhamun“ des Metropolitan Museum of Art von 1976. Sie wurden kürzlich zu einer Halskette mit münzförmigen Süßwasser-Barockperlen und vergoldeten Abstandshaltern aufgefädelt.
Die Pharaonen-Eule wurde in ganz Ägypten sehr respektiert und gefürchtet. Sie wurde durch Mumifizierung und Skulpturen geehrt und als hieroglyphisches Symbol für den Buchstaben M verwendet. Darüber hinaus glaubten die alten Ägypter, dass der Geist des Verstorbenen nachts als Vogel mit einem menschlichen Kopf, ähnlich einer Eule, durch die Luft schweifte.
Zu Ehren der Ausstellung „Treasures of Tutankhamun“, die zwischen 1976 und 1979 durch sieben amerikanische Städte reiste, beauftragte das Metropolitan Museum of Art 100 Stücke Gedenkschmuck, die aus dem Grab des Königs Tut dupliziert wurden. Das Met schickte acht Mitarbeiter in das Ägyptische Museum in Kairo, um Repliken direkt von den Artefakten abzuformen, wodurch diese Charms die genauesten Reproduktionen sind, die jemals geschaffen wurden.
