Chupícuaro ist eine spätvorklassische archäologische Kultur im Westen Zentralmexikos. Es war ein bedeutendes Keramikzentrum, das als eines der besten in Mesoamerika galt und vor allem für seine auffällige polychrome Keramik wie diese polychrom verzierte Keramikschale bekannt war. Das Exemplar ist aus braunem Ton gefertigt, mäßig gebrannt und anschließend brüniert. Es zeigt ein Gesicht, eine Nase und einen Mund als erhabenes Relief am Rand und ist von einem polychromen geometrischen Motiv umgeben.

Ausgestellt: Marjorie Barrick Museum, University of Nevada, Los Vegas in den 1980er Jahren.

Zustand: Vereinzelte Mineralablagerungen auf der Oberfläche, die Schale ist intakt und insgesamt in ausgezeichnetem Zustand. Ein schönes Beispiel.

M155, danach Privatsammlung Nevada, ausgestellt im Marjorie Barrick Museum, University of Nevada, Los Vegas (das eine umfangreiche Sammlung von Objekten aus dem präkolumbianischen Mesoamerika beherbergt). ) in den 1980er Jahren.
