Das Sonnenscheibenamulett ist einzigartig in der 26. Dynastie und später; es besteht insbesondere aus Lapislazuli oder dunkel gefärbten Steinen wie Serpentin oder Basalt. Mit dem Besitz dieses Amuletts konnte der Verstorbene damit rechnen, auf seinem Weg über den Himmel und durch die Unterwelt mit dem Sonnengott vereint zu sein und jeden Morgen wiedergeboren zu werden. Man findet es oft in der Nähe des Magens von Mumien.
