A rare Egyptian White Faience Vessel, Hyksos Period, ca. 1600 BCE
This object qualifies for free USA shipping and a flat rate fee of $75 if shipping internationally.
This rare thistle‑shaped vessel is executed in white faience and decorated in an umber pigment applied in vertical panels of zig‑zag motif. Directly beneath the lip is a narrow register of closely spaced vertical strokes, followed by a second band composed of zig‑zag ornament, a decorative schema seen in small faience wares of the Second Intermediate Period. The vessel’s refined form and pared ornament suggest it was intended as a votive or personal object, likely placed in domestic or funerary contexts.
