Die Perle hat eine abgerundete Form mit einer schönen blauen Glasur und einem großen Aufhängeloch in der Mitte, aufgereiht an einer 20 Zoll langen, anlaufgeschützten Silberkette.

Provenienz:Privatsammlung des ehemaligen französischen Diplomaten Noel Giron (1884–1941). Giron (oder Aime-Giron, wie er sich nach seinem berühmten Vater, dem Dichter und Herausgeber des Figaro) nannte, war Absolvent der Ecole du Louvre, wo er bei Eugene Revillout Ägyptische, Demotische und Koptische Sprachen studierte. Giron studierte außerdem Religionswissenschaft, Geschichte, klassische Philologie und moderne orientalische Sprachen an der Ecole des Hautes Etudes de la Sorbonne. Giron hatte ursprünglich vor, das Institut francais d'archeologie orientale zu besuchen und eine akademische Laufbahn einzuschlagen, gab diesen Plan jedoch auf und wurde stattdessen Berufsdiplomat im französischen Außenministerium. Dennoch behielt er sein wissenschaftliches Interesse an Texten bei, insbesondere an Inschriften in so unterschiedlichen Sprachen wie Arabisch, Aramäisch, Hebräisch, Nabatäisch, Persisch, Phönizisch und Griechisch. Obwohl das Stipendium für ihn nur ein Nebenberuf war, veröffentlichte er mehrere wissenschaftliche Arbeiten. Er veröffentlichte Legendes Coptes im Jahr 1907, und obwohl die bibliografische Aufzeichnung seiner Veröffentlichungen dies nicht zeigt, interessierte er sich für den Rest seines Lebens weiterhin für die indigene Sprache Ägyptens.
