Eine seltene doppelseitige Fayence-Plakette in Form einer Kartusche, glasiert in grünbraunen Tönen mit Spuren von Oberflächenpatina. Zum Aufhängen durchbohrt, trägt jede Seite eine gravierte königliche Kartusche, wobei eine Seite das Prenomen Usermaatre-Meriamun („Die Gerechtigkeit des Ra ist mächtig, Geliebter des Amun“) umschließt, die andere das Nomen Ramses, Sohn des Ra. Diese Inschriften identifizieren das Stück eindeutig als Ramses IV., dritter Herrscher der 20. Dynastie Ägyptens, und kennzeichnen das Objekt als königlich, den König ehrend. Die warme, hellbraune Glasur bewahrt trotz ihrer geringen Größe eine ausgezeichnete Klarheit der Hieroglyphen und demonstriert die feine Handwerkskunst der Fayence-Handwerker des Neuen Reiches.
Ramses IV. (reg. 1153–1147 v. Chr.) bestieg den Thron nach seinem Vater Ramses III. in einer Zeit interner wirtschaftlicher Belastung und externer Instabilität. Trotz seiner kurzen Regierungszeit von nur sechs Jahren versuchte er, die monumentalen Ambitionen seiner Vorgänger nachzuahmen, indem er Tempel in Auftrag gab und riesige Expeditionen zur Steingewinnung im Wadi Hammamat entsandte.
