Rosetten, wie dieses schöne Exemplar, haben eine lange Geschichte in der ägyptischen Zierarchitektur und waren an den meisten Palaststandorten beliebt. Die vollständig aus Fayence gefertigten, charakteristischen acht weißen Blütenblätter stellen ein blühendes Gänseblümchen dar, das wunderbar mit einem hellgrauen Hintergrund kontrastiert. Manchmal wurde ein goldener Nagel durch das zentrale Loch gesteckt, um es an einer Palastwand zu befestigen und so dekorative Ränder und Zierbänder zu bilden.
Rosetten vermitteln uns einen lebendigen Eindruck von der ägyptischen Palastdekoration und davon, wie es gewesen sein mag, vor mehr als dreitausend Jahren durch diese Korridore zu gehen.
