Hintergrund: Der Streitkolben ist eine grundlegende Handwaffe, auf halbem Weg zwischen einem Knüppel und einem Hammer. Als Symbole militärischer Macht ist die ägyptische Ikonographie reich an Darstellungen ägyptischer Herrscher, die Feinde mit einem Streitkolben erschlagen, und einige der frühesten greifbaren Dokumentationen des dynastischen Ägypten wurden durch zeremonielle Streitkolbenköpfe wie die von König Skorpion und König Narmer der 1. Dynastie geliefert.
