Featured prominently in many ancient societies, the ram has been a long-held symbol of strength, determination, action, initiative, and leadership. For the Greeks, the ram's head was thought of as an emblem of good fortune and during Roman times, was equated with the Egyptian high god Amun after Rome conquered Egypt. Jupiter Ammon, one of the many versions of Jupiter, was represented either in the form of a ram, or as a human being with the head of a ram (Herod. l. c. ;Strab. xvii. p. 812);

This magnificent pair of earrings have intricately designed ram's heads, with swirled bodies of 18K gold, a diamond ridge cascading down the forehead, and ruby eyes.
