An exceptional example representing the god Montu, depicted as a falcon-headed deity, his head surmounted by the sun disc with a uraeus and two feathers, shown standing on an integral plinth with a back pillar, striding forward, his hands fisted at his sides, and wearing a short pleated kilt.

Montu, the falcon-headed war god, embodied the scorching power of the sun. He represented strength, military prowess, and victory in battle. Egyptian pharaohs often identified with Montu to emphasize their roles as divine warriors and protectors of Egypt. The god's main cult centers were in Upper Egypt, notably in Thebes, Armant (Hermonthis), Medamud, and Tod. In these areas, he was worshipped alongside other gods like Ra and Amun. His sacred animal was the Buchis bull, seen as a living form of Montu, similar to Memphis's Apis bull.
