Payment, Layaway & Returns


 

PAYMENT
Sands of Time accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, PayPal, checks, bank transfer or international money orders in US dollars. Items are dispatched within 24 hours during normal gallery hours upon notification of cleared funds.
 
PAYMENT PLAN
Sands of Time offer a very flexible layaway payment plan for all objects offered for sale on our website.  Here's how it works:
  • Deposit:  A non-refundable deposit of 15% of the total price is required upon ordering.  
  • Checkout:  Order through our website and select the "layaway" option at checkout.  The system will confirm your order but you will not receive a deposit request.   We will send you a payment request via PayPal to make the initial 15% payment.  Please note: unfortunately the payment request is not yet automated so you may not receive the request immediately. (We're working on it!).
  • Flexibility:   You are not restricted to a set monthly payment; pay what you wish when you wish, however your balance must be paid within six months of the order date or you risk forfeiture.
  • Title:  Property title remains with Sands of Time Antiquities, Inc. until payment is made in full.
  • Shipment:  Once payment is complete, we will ship your order by the next business day.  
Cancellation of your layaway purchase will incur a 15% restocking fee. If you exchange or trade up an item purchased while on layaway, a 10% restocking fee will be charged on the original purchase.  If you would like to take advantage of our layaway system or would like to discuss an alternative option that better suits your budget, please contact us via e-mail or call 1-202-342-0518.  

 

REFUNDS & EXCHANGES 
Any item may be returned within 14 days of receipt for a refund or credit towards another item in our gallery providing we determine the item to be in “as purchased” condition.  If requesting a refund, a 15% restocking fee will be applicable to cover shipping, credit card processing fees and administrative costs.
