Representative of the goddess Bastet, carved from speckled stone, the cat sitting on its haunches with it's head raised, a suspension loop at the back of the neck.

Provenance: Private Maryland collection of a diplomat, acquired while serving in Egypt between 1949 and 1956, and then by descent.
