This beautiful pair of wide, crescent-shaped hand grip handles has been skillfully cast using the lost wax (cire perdue) method. Each handle features intricately designed decorative palmettes and scrolls, showcasing the remarkable craftsmanship of the time. Intended for attachment to the shoulders of a large water vessel known as a hydria, these handles serve as elegant embellishments, reflecting the preferences of affluent Greek society and their appreciation for refined artistry.
