A graceful flight of three striking silver sea birds, each formed with a hollow body composed of two joined halves. The head is made separately, featuring prominently raised circular eyes and a short beak. The tail fans out, showcasing subtle feather detailing. Two tiny suspension holes, perforated on each side, suggest each piece was once attached to a textile or worn as part of ritual adornment. All are now modern mounted as pendants with an adjustable 18K white gold chain.
Avian imagery held deep ritual significance in Moche cosmology, representing the connection between the earthly and celestial realms. These fine silver examples demonstrate the culture’s mastery of small-scale metalwork and its reverence for creatures of the sea and sky.
