Carved from transluscent orange carnelian the scarab is depicted with suture and pronotum lines on the back, the base uninscribed. Pierced longitudinally for suspension and mounted on a 14K gold teardrop pendant. Strung on an adjustable 18-inch 18K gold chain.

Dimensions: Scarab length: 1/2 inch (1.27 cm). Pendant drop length: 3/4 inch (1.9 cm). Strung on an adjustable 18-inch 18K gold chain.
Condition: The scarab is intact and in very good condition. It has been mounted as a pendant on a modern 14K gold pendant.
Provenance: Private NY collection, acquired Christie's in the early 1990s.
