A Greek Gold Bead Pendant, Hellenistic Period, ca. 3rd - 1st century BCE

The melon-shaped bead is formed from hammered gold sheet over clay. It features parallel incised lines running the width of the bead and a large central suspension hole.

Medium: Gold, clay

Dimensions:  Pendant width: 3/8 inch (0.95 cm)

Condition:  The bead is intact and in very good condition overall.  It has been set as a pendant on modern  adjustable 18" chain of 18K yellow gold.

Provenance:  Private collection of Mr and Mrs Broukal, UK; acquired before 1956, then by descent.
