From the Atlantic Watershed Culture in Costa Rica, this classic "Sukia" figure, carved from porous volcanic stone, is shown squatting in a ritual position with the right arm resting on his raised knees, and the left is raised to his mouth smoking. The head is finely carved with a square jawline and good angular facial features, the ears, eyes, and nose carved in high relief, while his curved back shows the characteristic skeletal-like spine. 

Medium: Volcanic stone

Dimensions: Height: 7 inches (17.7 cm) Width: 6 inches (15.24 cm)

Condition: Overall intact and in good condition
