A 22K gold hoop ring with spiral wire wrapped around the shoulders, a swiveled bezel set with a charming small bright blue faience scarab. The base is inscribed with a nefer (beauty) symbol.

Swivel rings usually hold seals that could be rotated in the right direction in order to impress clay used to seal an object, much like sealing wax. A similar example (1883.49.8), with wedjet eye engraved with a sa-sign on its reverse, now in the Royal Scottish Museum, Edinburgh, was found in the vicinity of the Royal Tomb at Amarna and was doubtless part of the furnishings pilfered and cached nearby during the removal of the burials to Thebes during the reign of Tutankhamun.
