The ancients thought rainwater and pure snow were essential for the formation of quartz crystal. Even up to the middle ages it was thought to be fossilized ice.  Considered the most powerful healing stone, able to work on any condition, it has been called the "Universal Crystal" because of its many beneficial uses.

Mined by the Romans then hand-carved and finished almost 1800 years ago, this crystal bead has been recently mounted as a pendant with an adjustable 18-inch chain of 18K white gold.

Dimensions: Bead length: 1.6 cm (0.62 inches)

Condition:  Minor signs of wear that do not detract, intact and in very good condition overall.  A lovely example.

Provenance:  Rita Okrent private collection, California, acquired in the 1960s.
