Carved in relief with elegantly arched neck and incised eye and beak, with splayed wings and legs, unfinished and still attached at the back to the block from which it was carved,

Duck vessels in this form were popular in the New Kingdom, compare W.C. Hayes, The Scepter of Egypt-Part II (New York) 1953, fig.199. The choice of material for this example makes a votive function more likely.

Condition:   Intact and in very good condition overall with some original polychrome remains.  Presented on a museum quality custom mount.
