Moulé en repoussé à partir de feuilles d'argent martelées, ce pendentif présente une tête humaine-aviaire. Le motif de l'homme-oiseau est présent dans tout le Pérou ancien ; les attributs communs incluent de grands yeux ovoïdes, un nez en forme de bec et une coiffe saillante qui imite une crête aviaire, comme on peut le voir dans cet exemple. Une petite boucle de suspension allongée en haut de la coiffe indique que cette pièce a été enfilée pour être portée.
Dans l’ancien Pérou, l’or, l’argent, les tissages et les coquillages tels que le Spondylus étaient considérés avec la même importance. Les dirigeants étaient parés d’une grande variété de bijoux et d’éléments décoratifs en or, argent, cuivre et un mélange d’alliages. À l'apogée de l'empire Chimú, du XIIe au XVe siècle, le travail des métaux a atteint son plus haut niveau de sophistication technologique.

Overseas shipments are sent using either USPS Priority Mail or FedEx but contact us if you have a shipping preference. International customers are responsible for all duties and taxes.
