À partir de la XXIIe dynastie, on trouve presque toujours deux amulettes ensemble : l'équerre de charpentier et le plomb, comme on le voit ici. Le plomb (ou fil à plomb) ressemble à une pyramide avec des pieds et était le plus souvent sculpté dans une pierre de couleur foncée. L'instrument, utilisé en architecture, servait à vérifier la verticalité et avait la forme d'une équerre (deux tiges rectangulaires en forme de L) placée avec la jonction en haut pour qu'un poids sur une corde puisse y être suspendu. La possession de cette amulette garantirait à son propriétaire l'équilibre éternel
