This very unusal Moche solid cast copper finial amulet shows the head and torso of a man who is drinking from a libation cup (kero). He wars a distinctive round cap and a large loop protrudes from his back whcih is attached to a jug that probably contained the ceremonail drink “Chicha”, a type of maize beer.

Medium: Copper

Dimensions: Height: 7/8 inch (2.2 cm), Width: 1 1/2 inches (3.81 cm)

Condition: Intact and in excellent condition overall.

Provenance: ex: Klassen Collection, thereafter private Canadian collection acquired in 2009 from the Estate of Joel Malter, (his Collection # 1535).
