The underside of the steatite scarab shows an ankh hieroglyph in the middle meaning “life,” flanked by two feathers signifying “truth” and two nefer signs meaning “good” or “perfect."  

Dimensions:  Length: 1.5 cm (0.59 inches)

Condition:  Intact and in excellent condition

Provenance:  Private Maryland collection of a diplomat, acquired while serving in Egypt between 1949 and 1956, and then by descent.
