A finely woven, undyed linen strip from an ancient Egyptian mummy wrapping. The textile is executed in a plain weave typical of New Kingdom funerary linens, showing tight, even threads and a warm, natural tone from age and oxidation. Frayed edges and minor separations attest to its ancient use and careful unwrapping in modern times. Linen such as this would have been produced from cultivated flax fibers, spun into fine threads, and woven on horizontal looms, a craft central to Egyptian textile production for millennia.
