A fine bronze oinochoe, the elongated body with ribbed shoulder, and elegantly tapered neck with wide round mouth and a large flat lip. A separately-cast handle attached to the lip and shoulder, features a base attachment in the form of an ivy leaf.

The function of a handle attachment is to secure the base of the handle securely to the body of the vase. This broad surface provides a stronger bond and is often decorative, as seen here.
