This marble fragment from a statue is a sensitively carved lifesize left foot of fine marble. a foot emerges from a large, rectangular plinth. The foot is beautifully carved, showing veins and bones, curled articulated toes with toenails and a slightly curved arch. Professionally mounted on a bronze base.
Condition: Overall tan-brown surface patina in very good condition overall.
Provenance: Private NYC collection acquired from the US trade in the 1980s.
